01. Who we are

Norta Search Inc. (Norta) is a British Columbia corporation providing specialized tax recruitment services across Canada. This policy explains our handling of personal information in website inquiries and recruitment relationships. Nicolas Graham, Founder, is the contact responsible for privacy: nicolas@nortasearch.com, 514-821-9815 or 604-999-7871.

02. Information you provide

An inquiry may include your name, email address, optional company name and message. During a recruitment relationship, you may also provide a résumé, employment and education history, skills, career preferences, compensation expectations and work authorization information. References or checks require an appropriate explanation and authorization before they are sought. Please provide only information relevant to your inquiry; do not include a social insurance number, banking details or identity documents in an initial message.

03. How the website works

The contact form prepares a message in your email application. Norta receives its contents only if you send that message; the form does not save submissions to a website database. On a first visit, the site uses the hosting provider’s approximate country and province derived from your connection to choose a language: Québec defaults to French; elsewhere, browser language is used. This routing does not request precise device location or save your location in a Norta database. VPNs can affect accuracy. When you select EN or FR, a first-party cookie (norta_language) remembers that choice for up to one year. You can remove it through your browser settings. Google Analytics is loaded only after you accept analytics cookies. It measures visits and interactions, including pages viewed, device and browser information and approximate location. Google processes connection information to provide this service. We do not send contact-form contents to Analytics, and advertising signals are disabled. Your analytics choice is stored in the first-party norta_analytics cookie for up to six months; Analytics cookies may also persist for up to six months. You can decline or withdraw consent through Cookie preferences in the footer. Google may process analytics information outside Canada. Hosting and security providers may process technical information such as an IP address, browser details, request time and pages requested to deliver and protect the site. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address and browser information. External links, including LinkedIn, have their own privacy practices.

04. Why we use information

We use relevant information to answer inquiries, understand career goals and hiring requirements, assess potential matches, communicate about recruitment services and opportunities, and manage our business relationships. We also use information where necessary to meet legal obligations, protect security or resolve disputes. We do not sell personal information.

05. Consent and your choices

We explain the purpose of collection and obtain consent where required. Sending an inquiry allows us to use the information to respond; it is not blanket consent to circulate your profile. We seek your authorization before presenting identifiable candidate information to a prospective employer. You may decline optional information or withdraw consent for future uses by contacting us, subject to legal or contractual restrictions. This may limit the services we can provide. We will explain any relevant consequences.

06. Sharing and service providers

Where authorized or otherwise permitted by law, relevant information may be shared with prospective employers, references, professional advisers and service providers supporting communications, hosting, record management or recruitment operations. We limit sharing to what is necessary for the relevant purpose and require appropriate protection from providers handling information on our behalf. We may also disclose information when legally required or permitted.

07. Processing outside your province

Norta operates in British Columbia. Information provided from Québec or another province may therefore be handled outside that province. Hosting, email and other service providers may process information elsewhere in Canada or abroad, where local laws may permit access by public authorities. Applicable privacy obligations continue to apply to our handling of information. Contact us for details about the providers and locations relevant to your information.

08. Retention and safeguards

We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the identified purposes and applicable legal obligations. Relevant factors include an active recruitment relationship, your preferences, recordkeeping requirements and unresolved disputes. Information no longer needed is deleted, destroyed or anonymized as appropriate. We use safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information and restrict access to those who need it. No website, email or storage system can guarantee absolute security.

09. Access, correction and requests

You may ask about our use or disclosure of your information, request access or correction, ask about deletion, withdraw consent, or request a portable copy where the law provides that right. Contact Nicolas Graham using the details above. We may need to verify your identity and will respond within the applicable legal timeframe. Some requests are subject to legal exceptions or retention requirements; we will explain any refusal or limitation.

10. Questions, complaints and changes

Please contact our privacy contact first with questions or concerns. You may also contact the applicable privacy authority, including the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec. We may update this policy as our practices change. The date below identifies the current version; material changes requiring new consent will be handled accordingly.
